FOLLOW THE JOURNEY

1️⃣ My studio is in an empty lounge room at my parents’ house (who I also live with because we are a super close family and because I put the money back into the business.) It’s packed with stock, and I’m seriously running out of space.

2️⃣ Last year, I really burnt myself out and let my health slip—I gained 10kg, lost confidence, and have really struggled to feel stylish in my own skin this year… which feels ironic as a designer of fashion accessories.

3️⃣ Managing money as a business owner is a constant lesson. For years, I just spent and trusted it would work out as I just loved being creative (and it did work out). But now, with bigger investments and quieter seasons, I’m learning to navigate the anxiety of watching money go out while having faith that it will all come back.

4️⃣ Running a business can be lonely. I have an amazing community, but some days, the only people I may talk to are my parents, my dog, and Jodie. I miss working in a team environment.

5️⃣ A lil reason I left my job at Apple? I never wanted to wear enclosed shoes again. Give me Birkenstocks and my own schedule any day.

6️⃣ Right now, I’m in my internal era—deep in work behind the scenes and dealing with finding my confidence, which has made it really hard to show up on camera. I feel like I should be ‘on’ all the time, but I’m learning to be okay with ebb and flow.

7️⃣ I never planned to be a jewellery designer. Sometimes I even question if I’m any good or if I’ll run out of ideas… then I remember I create 70-piece collections every time so maybe I can just start to break those collections up.

Savouring the slow weekends before the chaos begins.

With market season just around the corner, I’m making the most of these quieter weekends—taking time to reset, catch up with friends, and enjoy the little things.

This morning, I met up with Jesal, a longtime customer who has become a close friend. She’s one of the many people who make this community so special—so much so that she’s even helped in the studio, modelled and helped out at photoshoots. We went for a walk, caught up on life, and I finally got to hand-deliver the earrings she ordered from the sale (something she wanted to wait for until we saw each other in person).

The rest of the day was spent in the studio working on pearls, product development, and preparing for a busy week ahead. But I’ve been making a real effort lately to start my mornings right—moving my body, putting on earrings that make me feel good (even if it’s just with activewear), and keeping up with little habits that set the tone for the day.

Slowing down when I can, making time for what matters, and getting ready for everything to come.

When your light starts to come back… ✨

Sometimes, for reasons we can’t quite explain, our light just dims. You think you’ve got a handle on things, and then suddenly, you don’t feel like yourself. Showing up feels hard. Knowing what to share, what’s worthy of sharing, feels impossible.

These last few months have been heavy—navigating a court case against the man who assaulted me, heartbreak, burnout, and just feeling physically off. After the whirlwind of last year, I struggled to show up the way I wanted to—not just here, but for myself too.

So, I made a choice. A conscious, slow choice to find little ways each day to bring my light back. Some days, that’s meant moving my body. Other days, it’s meant rest. Some days, it’s just finding one small thing that makes me feel like me again.

And today? It feels good to be dancing again. It feels good to be laughing again. It feels good to feel again. And I’m really excited for what’s ahead—hopefully, a lot more dancing too. 💛
